  • Where each person is an individual
  • Where there are no unnecessary rules and regulations

Forest Hill House welcomes a group of young people for National Citizen Service.

For one week this month Forest Hill House Nursing Home were visited by the National Citizen Service. The group’s main objective was to bridge the gap between the young and the elderly.
We kick started the week off with a visit from our local pastor Peter Jones who kindly delivered a dementia friendly presentation which gave the team a good understanding of dementia and how we act positively within our community with dementia residents.

Everyday the residents enjoyed watching the enthusiastic youngsters organise a sensory garden for them. They also enjoyed a variety of activities which included the visiting reptiles from Zoo Lab, taking walks with residents and going on an outing to Poole Park with a fish and chip dinner followed nicely by an ice cream.

The Team made and designed two colourful planters where residents will be given the opportunity to plant their own flowers which have turned out fantastically and will bring much joy to our home.
