Accommodation and Vacancies

At Claremont Lodge, all residents are accommodated in luxurious single rooms, although there are a number of rooms which are large enough to comfortably accommodate a couple together.

The rooms are spacious, well lit, and fully furnished. They are all en-suite with toilets, hand basins and showers. A range of disabled accessories are fitted and can be added, to make life easier for our residents. A call bell system has been installed in every room with remote pendants available for use outside the building.

All meals are freshly prepared to have that home cooked taste, with the use of fresh produce whenever we can. The chef provides a regularly varied menu along with catering for special diets (diabetic, low fat etc.) The home also has excellent relations with local GP surgeries and hospitals who provide full support.

Our room vacancies vary from time to time, for any nursing or residential care including short term respite care please contact us to speak to the Manager, discuss our availability and see what we can do to help.

Respite Care

Respite Care is the term used for planned short term elderly care or nursing care, generally used by carers who need a break from looking after their loved one or as a stepping stone from hospital care to returning home after an operation or bout of ill health.
Claremont Lodge Care Home can provide Respite Care beds whenever there is availability. We can usually accommodate bookings of respite care residents for a short break (1 – 3 weeks) whilst their carer(s) have a holiday or well earned break, so please contact us with your required dates. We also liaise with our local hospitals, to help them free up beds and to ensure a smooth transition for anyone being transferred from their care into ours. We can then provide respite care until they are well enough to return home.

Lifestyle

Residents are allowed, wherever possible, to live their lives as independently as possible. They are encouraged to remain active as long as possible and participate in as many activities as they are able to manage, subject to their own limitations.

We welcome both long and short stay residents, including respite care, whether privately funded or assisted by Social Services. Any special dietary requirement is catered for.

The Home helps clients to lead their individual lifestyles whenever possible by encouraging existing and new interests and providing varied activities for those interested. Friends and family are welcomed at any time to spend time with their relative/s.
